Well i finally went and shot my new gun for the first time and i was way to the left on all my hits at 25 and 50 ft.I'm right handed..So my question is..What is the proper way to target your weapon.Should i be using my left eye or right? Why am i shooting so much to the left?I started to hit some decent shots, but i had to aim way to the right to even get close.

Free Online Targets + Thumb Drive + Kinko's = Win!
Bring your own ammo and find the cheapest range-only fee. Usually the best bet is an all-day range for 10-20$. I have an indoor one that belongs to the local police union. You can shoot all day for 12$ or free for members.

Btw, did you see those targets I posted in another thread? Print up some of those and they will help you diagnose your aim issues.
Reed, you are shooting in Palm Beach County, correct? That is why you pay so much, in Palm Beach you can only shoot the ranges ammo. So they gouge the shit out of you.

Glad it was helpful. And what context are you using "yh" in? Never seen that shorthand before. Just curious.

That seems to be the average scumbag gouging going on now. I hope these people that are scumbagging everyone now is remembered when this craziness comes to a halt.

I went into a pawn shop yesterday, more out of morbid curiosity then anything else since I have never been in one. Well the guy there had 1000rds of 7.62x30 Wolf and some cans of milsurp 7.62x39. I was curious so I asked how much. He replied that none of it was for sale yet. So let me get this straight, its in the glass case with a bunch of other shit for sale yet its not for sale? This piece of shit is holding on to it till ammo reaches an all time high price, then he will sell.
Well I hope this scumbag paid too much for it now and the price falls fast on it so he is stuck with it. What a dick head he was. I will never go into one of those shit holes again.

Pawn shops also can't sell certain groups for a minimum period of time from when they are first consigned. Did he just get them in?

He didnt say. He was a real jerk to me when I asked about it.
I'm not a big fan of that chart BTW. There's so much more to the mechanics of shooting that it's like telling a golfer who is slicing to just address the ball at 30° because his swing must be outside to in. Plus, there could be other issues with the gun itself. Have someone watching is a start. Fire a few rounds then have that person either load or empty the chamber, not tell you if the gun is hot, and let you take aim and squeeze. When you do this on an empty chamber when you are anticipating a round going off, you can usually spot issues in shooting technique right away if there are any. Sometimes you can get fatigue as well if you are shooting heavy recoiling handguns and instinctively react in ways to affect your accuracy. Maybe Cris can help you diagnose your problem.
