What do you guys think about this idea? I was thinking of picking up a Glock 22 and a Glock 27. Leave the 22 in the car, and keep the 27 in a crossbreed. Interchangeable mags etc.

i say thumbs up but i would go with the 23 over the 22 as the size may be more condusive to a glove box or other storage area

At a cost of 2 rnds, the G23 over the G22 makes pretty good sense if you want a concealed carry weapon. Since you plan on having the G27, you may have no desire to carry the G23. Pesonally, I think I can conceal my G19 as easily as the G26 my wife has. I still want to get a G17 tho as well as a G21 and G30. :D

I'm looking at the 27 for carry, and the full size big brother as a car/house gun that will never be to far away.

Then what the fuck is the XDm for? Just a range gun? The bug has seriously bit you lil bro... I think I should hide your wallet from you for your own good.

I think leaving a gun in the vehicle is not a great idea.

I think you should try out the Glock before you get one. I think you will then realize it is in no comparison to the XD line.

Especially with all the auto break ins lately. :+1:

I love my G26 for the ability to conceal but do not like your idea about leaving a gun in the car. I do think you cant go wrong with matched caliber guns though .

It wouldn't be just sitting in there all day, but if I have to make a run into the ghetto, it might not be a bad idea to have a big brother a few feet away.

Plus it's just an excuse to have both guns. shhh.

Anyways, enough about the high mighty opinions of proper usage. How are the ballistic performances of these guns? I am thinking the G27 is the best way to go for Florida clothes, and still maintain a good amount of fire power and stopping power.

yeah?

I have no experience with Glocks, other than I dont like them. Every persons opinion is different, only thing I can say is try them first to see how they fit.

I have fired the G27 and I must say with the power of the .40 in that tiny package, its a handful. Personally when I buy a .40 I will go with the Sig P226 carry.

Clothes wise I wear a lot of bass pro fishing style shirts which cover guns great untucked yet still are very comftable. I can wear my G26 on my hip or IWB with out exposing it under normal movement.

+1, that's the best solution. This is perhaps true. I will have to see how easy I can conceal it though wearing typical summer clothes.

I do have these cool tactical pants with a neat pocket thats perfect for an extra mag on the left thigh too :)

:+1: Not the best idea! I keep a few weapons in my trunk as well as a load of tac gear, but I also drive a retired cruiser with the trunk lock package. To many car thefts etc these days to trust leaving shit in your car.

:+1: Glocks really arent all that bad, but standing up to the XDs there is zero comparison. Personally Glocks sucks, but you can get more accessories and duty shit for them as apose to the XD. Try it first hand before investing in it!

I don't think they suck. I use to be opposed to them completely, but you know, the fact is they have been proven for years. They are tough and reliable, and most of all they are ugly and cheap. Perfect for a gun that's going to get used everyday! I don't want my XDm getting beat up :(

As for the Glock 23, one thing I noticed about the dimensions is, unlike the XDs, Instead of just chopping the same amount of the grip frame from compact to sub-compact, their mid sized gun has a longer frame than the subcompact. Do you guys think it is still going to be easy enough to conceal in a pair of jeans and maybe a polo shirt?

Crossbreed Holster. I have thrown an XDm in my crossbreed with no probs. Enough said.

Go for the SR9 lol...It's cheaper than a Glock or XD, is a full size but has a slim profile and even though it is a 9mm it is full size so you get 17+1. I'm looking for a holster now for it so that I can IWB. Another reason I chose other than it just felt good in my hand was that the SR9 felt versatile, rugged, and I feel the slimmer profile will allow me to conceal it despite being a full size rather than a compact...I'm just not a fan of compact

Lol that's what I have been told but I have worn it occasionally around the house, the SR9 that is, and it didn't bother me at all and that was without a good holster like crossbreed. You may be quite right though...guess we'll know in a couple months when I get my CWP and you may read a post of mine on here complaining about full size carry lol

Cris

Yeah, until you have to carry for several hours out and about it don't count. You will see though. I look forward to your future post, LOL!!!

I carry my full size XD 4in around without a problem and it feels great to say the least, but I am also a bigger guy than most.

The SR0 is an outstanding weapon! Great feel etc... A good holster would be a Desantis Cozy Partner or Crossbreed depending on your preference.

Yh I love it. Would like to improve the trigger but from what I heard Ruger's guns often come very stiff out of the box and need a decent break in period. Only put about 300 rounds through mine so far and most people have said around 500 it gets a lot smoother. Also been suggested I bring it somewhere to get a little work and buffing

That's something else I'm glad about with XD's. Not a single malfunction on the first 100 rounds (or ever) and it was consistent after the first 20-30 rounds.
