Based on the legendary original Colt M4, this .22 Long Rifle carbine sports German quality and craftsmanship.

We got a couple of these in the shop as of yesterday. Not sure of the pricing on them but they should be in the $600's. There were two different models, one with the plain Jane rail and the other had a quad rail, obviously the quad rail would be a little more. Pretty neat if you are looking for a cheap shooter with the cool factor or as most know as "Tacticool".

The Colt M4 .22 looks and feels like an actual M4, creating one of the most exciting .22 caliber firearms available. Engineered from the ground up as a dedicated .22 rimfire, this AR style Colt features a 16.2-inch barrel, collapsible stock, flat-top receiver with detachable carry handle, CAR handguards, flash hider, A2 pistol grip, and 30-round magazine.
A tactical .22 rifle like this Colt is ideal for new shooters who are learning handling and operation. A gun like this Colt .22 M4 can have many uses-plinking, target practice and small-game hunting where allowed....all of which offer an economical shooting option.

We saw these at the SHOT Show early this year. There were a few actual AR parts on the display models. I'll need to check them out. With the state of affairs in ammo, it at least gives you some trigger time for relatively cheap.

If it's under 700$ after tax that would be a great price for a complete firearm from Colt of all people.

LOL!! Ok, I checked pricing last night. It's $600 for the regular the one that is pictured, the other is called the "Ops" model which has a quad rail which goes for $650. They were cheaper than I thought they were going to be.

No. The gun may appear to look like an AR, but both the upper and lower receivers are completely different on the inside. The only pieces I think are actual USGI AR parts is the FSB, dust cover, grip, castle nut and possibly the FH and non-functioning forward assist. The grip might be non standard as well since it uses a secondary hole to screw up into the receiver. Something about the buffer tube and stock feels different, but cosmetically they look the same.

ETA: The delta ring on the standard model appears and works just like a real delta ring. The handguards remove exactly the same and also appear as actual AR handguards. There is a simulated barrel nut as well which begs for further exploration as it may be strong enough for various AR free floating rail systems. The Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 rail comes to mind as you don't have to remove the delta ring to install their system. If the barrel nut is pot metal, I would not recommend trying it tho.

Hmm, the "Ops" model could be fun. Both have detachable carry handles?
